...I  could see it in your eyes.. if I was not behind a keyboard and a screen and you weren't somewhere else in the world behind another screen.  Perhaps in Timbuktu...No one really talks about Timbuktu anymore.  Much like quick sand, I thought Timbuktu would make more of an impact on my adult life.  But here we are, never mentioning Timbuktu at all. 

Welcome back to the blog, fellow kids.  Remember when blogging was a thing? After almost 10 years, it seemed only right to revive this blog with a little post. In the words of my four year old "I'm an old lady!" which I only recently figured out was a quote from Peppa Pig.

Mermaids and Side Tables....

Yes, it is a combination you see all the time! Especially when perusing the bottom of the ocean.  Yep, just mermaids hanging out, resting their cups of sea urchin tea on top of practical yet stylish side tables. 

They probably buy their furniture from some kind of underwater Kmart equivalent.. Sea-Mart..or CMart.  Gosh, here I am exposing all the homeware purchasing secrets of the every day mermaid...

Who doesn't love mermaids?  I mean, apart from Ursula, I cannot think of anyone that does not love them and by love them I mean want to be them. I mean, want to dye their hair the same colour and sew their legs together and use permanent marker and bits of alfoil to draw scales on and sticky tape flippers to our feet and grow our hair long and learn to breath under water.  It’s essentially the entire plot to The Talented Mr Ripley, but if they were mermaids.  Hey, that’s a movie I would pay to see!

This illustration was done with my two favourite Instagram merbabe’s @sunfilledream and @lanbriget in mind.  I stalk their Instagram’s whenever I need some mermaid inspiration and they ALWAYS deliver.

where is my margarita, and where is my wand for that matter??

It is 3.03pm on a Friday afternoon.  There is no margarita in my hand, or next to me, or on my desk or anywhere in my vicinity.

What is the problem here everyone?? Where is a margarita for me to drink and be merry with?

This is quite distressing.  I am not quite sure what to do with myself.

I have drawn about 5 pictures of margaritas in the notebook next to me, but so far none of them have magically come to life.  Is this because I'm not REALLY a wizard?  Have I been living a lie all this time?

There is a lot for me to contemplate it seems. 

But how are YOU doing?  Yes, it has been awhile.  I hope you are still a wizard and surrounded by margaritas on this winter Friday afternoon.

I have not visited blog land for a while, but the good news is that I have brought Mr Bird back to life! Hooray! Hoorah, what adventures he will go on, his legs are very long and he walks on them to places.

It is the only way.  Good golly I miss summer.  It is STARTING to get slightly lighter earlier in the mornings and that is a good sign.

 

Don't you love how strategically placed the dogs look in the first photo? They are models.

 

This was a lovely sunny day a week or so ago.  Tomorrow it will be sunny also.  Sunny is good.  Life is good (even though it is still winter).

I don't know where you are, but I am not one to pry.  This is my spectacular and favourite newish Wildfox jumper.  It is rather wonderful. When it gets a little colder I will wear it and have adventures and roll down hills and what not.  But it was actually 36 degrees today! I went to the beach after work and everything, summer is not over and that's ok by me.

 

These photos are from a month or so ago when I moved into my new house.  It is old and beautiful and I can hang with my dogs on the porch and drink wine, and that's what life is all about!

almost unicorns and days that aren't friends.....

It is Sunday, which in my opinion is too dangerously close to Monday.  Monday and I have not been  getting on for several years.  We may never be friends again.  Opinion is a funny word, it is almost onion if you remove some letters, and almost unicorn if you add some and remove some, you know change the word completely.  Horses are good because they are Almost Unicorns.  So I'm not a fan of horse meat, you are eating an almost unicorn!  I don't know if almost unicorns cause you to be cursed for almost life.  I'd have to ask my good friend Harry. These questions are far too puzzling for a Sunday morning.

 

Here are some things that are floral to sooth your mind.  Look at Maxy Moo! He is a wonderful old dog.

And things that are shiny. And then you can attract all the magpies in the world because they love shiny things and you will also be wearing an alfoil pirate hat at the time. Then with your mermaid/magpie army you will rule the world and can surround yourself with everything that is good.

This has nothing to do with my outfit here, it's just a good life plan.

it is true, and I know this because I have conducted many scientific experiments (today) AND it has been 100 per cent accurate.  It is difficult to type when your mind is buzzing with the scientific findings of the day, I am sure it has nothing to do with the fact my lap top is awkwardly perched on top of a pink and beige zig zag patterned pillow.

 

ON another note.  There is no need to conduct any kinds of experiments scientific or otherwise on my beautiful best friend's dresses.

If you don't like these dresses, then you probably also don't like summer, or things made entirely out of rainbows.  You probably cackle loudly at the sight of a box full of abandoned kittens.  And quite frankly kittens would look lovely sitting upon this dress.

 

we also look like we are having LOTS of fun, hugging and swaying and holding pot plants and being best friendly! Which is partly because we are hugging, swaying, holding plants and being best friends, but you can never be sure if it is us or the magic of the dresses. Obviously dresses with magical abilities are highly desirable and hard to come by..... THAT is something to think about.

once upon a time there was a blog.....

........and how is it there is blue highlighter all over my arm? It is perhaps because I was using blue highlighter today.  Sometimes I draw all over my face to make it more beautiful, but according to my 3 year old niece it is not working.  I am mainly doing a blog post because I am waiting for things to load on to my usb.  Load already, I haven't got all day. Except I do.  Except not really.  I don't know what I'm saying, maybe we can get Ice to cater the wake?  Here I am wearing things that are stripey, updating this blog for the sake of waiting for things to load and being covered head to toe in highlighter.

Also how WONDERFULLY magical is the poison vial necklace from Wildfox.  It is no secret that I want to marriage all over Wildfox, and this necklace is one of my new favourite things.  Anything that makes you feel just a little bit like Juliet Capulet is alright by me!

Oh blogging world, I have been very busy lately and have not visited you in some time.  Today I had a tooth removed from my face, so what better time to blog than now.  I had one wisdom tooth taken out this morning, needles in your mouth are not fun, but at least it is out now.

 

Anyways I'm not supposed to drink or eat anything for about 4 hours. So obviously all I want to do is eat and drink everything in the house.  I always want to do the opposite of what I'm told.

 

Also weather, HOW WINTER do you want to be? Speed up time to the weekend when things are getting a bit warmer.

psychedelic time traveller..............

 

The last time I wore this dress, a strange man on the street asked me where it was from.  I told him it was from the 60's and that I was a time traveller.  He was quite impressed to hear that the world's first time machine was built entirely out of popcorn.  He tried to bring me home to show me off to his kids, as most people would when coming across a time traveller. I calmly explained there was no time for me to meet his children as I would have evaporated by then.

It's always good to pretend you are a time traveller
